Chimpex S.A. is a market leader in port operations in the Port of Constantza, Romania, since 1971. We are a customer focused company, always identifying logistic solutions suitable for our clients’ needs. In 2012, Chimpex became part of Ameropa Group.

We are located in one of the best strategic locations in the Port of Constantza with good access by road, rail and water, having a storage capacity of 600,000 tons, 360,000 sq.m. of operating area, 10 operational berths (with a total quay length of 2.26 km), water depth of up to 13.5 m,10 railway tracks and access for road transport of up to 80 tons, and a maximum daily intake of aprox. 33,000 tons.

Our main object of activity consists of stevedoring and our goal is to provide our customers with the best possible service by means of an experienced and qualified team for loading/unloading ships. Storing is a complementary activity to that of cargoes loading/ discharging. Our warehouses are in very good condition, as we consider it our obligation to take the utmost care of our clients’ commodities while stored with us. In addition, we provide packing services to our clients. Our company has the experience and equipment necessary to pack bulk dry commodities in bags of 500 and 1000 kg, at a rate of 3000 tonnes per working day.

In 2017 Chimpex finalized a new world scale, state-of-the-art grain terminal. The grain terminal has a storage capacity of 200,000 tonnes on 20 vertical cells, can receive cargo by barge (1 x 400 tonnes per hour), truck (2 x 400 tonnes per hour) and rail (1x 400 tonnes per hour), and has a vessel loading rate of 2 x 800 tonnes per hour, using appropriate operational equipment. The investment over 42 million EUR is part of Chimpex’ and Ameropa’s ongoing commitment to provide best-in-class services to its customers, protect the environment, and ensure a safe working environment for its employees.

Our company has experience in handling the following types of cargoes: grains (any type), solid chemical fertilizers, sugar bulk, phosphate/apatite, vegetable oil, UAN and other bulk and general cargoes.

Evidence of the cargoes transited through our terminal is maintained by a special software, our clients being able to check in real time their stocks and cargo movements and to insert into our soft their orders for delivery of cargoes.

We also offer railway transportation for cargoes transiting our facilities.
